Genome Sequence
Nuclear Genome
The T. pseudonona genome is approximately 34 Mbp in size. About 11,242 protein coding genes and 131 tRNAs are split across the 24 diploid nuclear chromosomes with an overall G + C content of 47%. There is no evidence the mitochondrial or chloroplast genomes have yet undergone full endosymbiosis with large-scale transfer of genes to the nuclear genome yet. However, some duplicate genes exist (including the psbW gene), which suggest this process is currently underway.
